Katrin Valgemäe – Spring Exhibition 2025

In my ongoing series Femme Fiasco, I explore the symbiosis of women and animals as a fusion of nature and social identity. Through bold brushstrokes, charged gestures, and a deliberately theatrical use of colour, I attempt to expose the contradictions of womanhood—both performed and instinctive, sacred and ridiculous.

I chose to exhibit these particular works because they are among the most significant and defining pieces I’ve created in recent years. They mark a turning point and signal the direction I’m moving toward in my practice.
